Identifying Services Approaching End of Term and Month-to-Month Services

Term and renewal information is used to identify month-to-month (MtM) services (also referred to as ‘out of term’ services) as well as services approaching end of term so the account management (or other responsible teams) can process the renewals.

Services approaching end of term

Services approaching end of term have fulfillment status equal to In Service and Is In Term flag checked (Is In Term is checked when current term type is equal to Initial, Auto- or Customer- renewed — in other words the service is active and is not on a month-to-month renewal), and the following fields:

  • Days To End of Term — Number of days remaining until end of the current term calculated only for services that are “in term” (the current term type is equal to Initial, Auto- or Customer- renewed), zero otherwise (e.g., for month-to-month services).
  • Months To End Of Term — Number of months (with decimal part) remaining until end of the current term calculated only for services that are “in term” (the current term type is equal to Initial, Auto- or Customer- renewed), zero otherwise (e.g., for month-to-month services).

Nextian provides a standard list view to identify services with end of term within 30 days (App Launcher → Services → With End Of Term Within 30 Days), other views can be created based on particular needs (e.g. in 60 days, with renewal type set to ‘Month-to-Month’ only, etc.).

Services coming to end of term are also shown on account details in the Services Coming To End Of Term component:

  • Does not include month-to-month services, even though technically each month-to-month extension is a one-month term.
  • By default, shows only services with Month-to-Month and Expires renewal types (i.e., ones that may require action); other renewal types may be selected in the renewal type filter.

Month-to-Month services

Month-to-month services have fulfillment status equal to In Service and term type set to Month-to-Month.

Month-to-month services are shown in Out Of Term (Month To Month) (App Launcher → Services → Out Of Term (Month To Month)).

Nextian also enables identification of accounts that have month-to-month services via Has Month To Month Services flag and Accounts With Month To Month Services list views (App Launcher → Accounts → Accounts With Month To Month Services).

Month-to-month services are also shown on account details in the Out Of Term (Month-To-Month) Services component (shown on the screenshot above).
