When using Nextian CPQ, a service template can be specified in the service Price Book Entries (PBEs) — the template is used to create new service elements during order processing (if no template is specified in the PBE, the newly created service has no elements). This happens 100% automatically and saves a lot of manual work related to element creation.
Sometimes however, elements need to be created manually. To create service elements from a template:
- Open service details.
- Click Create Elements From Template action button.
- Select template (only active templates are displayed).
- Choose if prior elements should be deleted — preserving existing elements is useful when building service elements by combining a few templates.
