Salesforce Chatter and Nextian Orders

Nextian orders use standard Salesforce Chatter to help with collaboration on order delivery:

  • The Chatter component is available on Order, Work Order and Task pages.
  • Chatter messages are aggregated into a single Timeline (a custom Nextian component located underneath the Chatter panel):

    The timeline aggregation follows the Order → Work Order → Task hierarchy, i.e.:

    • Order-, work order- and task-level messages are displayed on an order Chatter.
    • Work order- and task-level messages are displayed on a work order Chatter.
    • Work order- and task-level messages are displayed on a task Chatter.
  • In addition to standard Salesforce items (comment, question, etc.) Nextian logs the following events to chatter:
    • Task: start, completed, restarted.
    • Work Order: started, completed, canceled, restarted.
    • Order: started, completed, canceled.
