Adding order line items (ORIs) is different than ‘Creating’ them (the latter involves creating work orders and new services).
ORIs can be added to an order in one of the following ways:
Automatically, upon quote creation
ORIs are added automatically to an order based on a quote when the order is created from a Closed Won opportunity.
Re-creating/re-adding from a quote
It is possible recreate/re-add ORIs for orders that have been created from a quote and for which some of the line items have been deleted:
- Open order details
- Go to the Order Summary
- Click Recreate ORIs
Important | Only ORIs that have been previously deleted will recreated/re-added, the already existing ones will be left intact. |
Adding order line items manually
This option is for orders that have been created without a quote or when there is a need to add additional ORIs after opportunity closure. This is only possible for orders that have not been entirely completed or canceled. To add a line item:
- Open order details
- Go to the Related tab
- Scroll down to Order Line Items related list
- Click New in the Order Line Items related list

Once ORIs have been added, they can be created.
