Orders and Work Orders track the “last touch” date and what the “last touch” activity was (respectively Last Touch Date and Last Touch fields).
Their purpose is to help finding orders that are not moving through processing and for reporting.
Both values are read-only and are updated automatically as follows:
- Any system events logged in the chatter (order create, task started, etc.) as well as user comments are considered a “last touch”.
- Updates made on work order level affect their parent order (i.e., if an update is made on a work order identical Last Touch and Last Touch Date are set on the parent order).
- Conversely, updates made on tasks affect their parent work order and order.
Important | Last Touch is a 255 character text field so it can be used in list views and reports; comments longer than 255 characters are automatically truncated. |
