Quote Cloning

Typically, multiple quotes are presented to a customer during the sales cycle, e.g., identical products with a two- vs. a three- year contract, or different products variants — a small vs. a medium virtual machine, etc.

Quote cloning can be used for rapid creation of multiple quote variants.

A cloned quote is identical with the original (line items, opportunity, account, etc.) with two exceptions:

  • It has a new quote number
  • If a syncing quote was cloned, the new quote is not syncing (as there can be only one syncing quote)

To clone a quote:

  1. Open quote details
  2. Click Clone Quote action button
  3. Confirm action
  4. The new quote is created and opened (at this stage the new, cloned quote has already been created and does not need additional saving)
