Apart from the standard Part and Product record types on the standard Salesforce Product, Nextian also provides additional Service Request record type.
While Product is specifically reserved for subscription services (e.g., Business Internet for 24 months) or widgets (a router), Service Request constitutes a one-time service request. A service request can be either standalone (e.g., perform a network security audit) or service- specific (check equipment on my internet service) depending on the value of Service Based metadata flag on a service request product.
