Requesting and Entering a License Key

The default, free license is limited to 1 simulated device with 200 OIDs.

To request and install a commercial license key perform the following steps as Windows administrator or Linux root:

  1. Start CLI Console and connect to the local simulator (use start menu shortcut on Windows or sudo /opt/nextian/snmpsimulator/bin/nextian-snmpsimulator.sh console on Linux)
  2. At the prompt, type HLREQ and hit Enter — a license key request will be displayed, e.g.:
    hardwareId=A82D2ABA6367B1E3FD35CA30D5ECFFB9
  3. Submit the request to Nextian via email to your account manager or using this contact form
  4. Copy the received key file to SIMULATOR_HOME/conf/simulator-license.lic
    ImportantWhen copying the key, make sure to add a newline at the end of the file.
  5. Restart the simulator
