In most billing systems, creating an equivalent of a Salesforce service in billing requires a billing order (which in turn creates a billing subscription or a service).
While billing orders are typically created automatically through work orders and automation, it is also possible to create a billing order manually from Salesforce. This is useful for testing, troubleshooting failed work orders, or migrating existing services.
To manually create a billing order for an existing service:
- Log into Salesforce.
- Open the services view (App Launcher → Services).
- Identify the desired service and open its details view.
- Click the Billing action button (a pop-up will appear with further options).
- Click Create <Your Billing System Name> Order — the order is created in billing.
