In most cases, Nextian services are mapped directly to billing subscriptions:
- Both services and subscriptions may include recurring and non-recurring add-ons.
- Base charges are stored directly on the service object in Nextian, and on the subscription record in the billing system — if supported. Otherwise, an additional “base” component is added to represent the charge.
Synchronization between Nextian and billing systems is primarily handled through work orders and automation. However, several manual service actions are also available via the Billing action on the service record (App Launcher → Services → Service Details → Billing).
For top-level subscription products Billing Product Name is mapped to the Salesforce product name associated with a service, Billing Service Name to service Name in Salesforce, for example:
For add-ons, the Salesforce name is used for both billing and product names.
